LonelyCache

I apologize for asking but I do not know what determines that a cache is "Backcountry" or not. Could somebody please explain for me what it is that makes a cache Backcountry.

This is discussed in the LonelyCache Knowledge Book, Backcountry Leader Boards. The relative part is:

If a region does not contain enough qualifying caches for a particular backcountry board, then the region will not include that board. For a cache to qualify, it must be worth at least five cache points. For states and LonelyCache wide, twenty qualifying caches must exist for the board to be supported. For counties and DGP regions, ten qualifying caches must exist.

So in LonelyCache, for a cache to be considered "Backcountry," it must be worth five points. Note that definition really has nothing to do with where the cache is located, just how many points it is worth. Then, for a geocacher's backcountry score only caches worth at least five points are used.

Thank You! I wondered because I like looking for caches off the main traveled ways and was never certain I was going for a backcountry cache or not.
