inactive days

Post by desert dawg »

Noticed on days when a chacher does not log any finds, you still normally gain points according caches logged /owned caches....
I checked a couple cachers who have not logged a find for over 1 year the they still gain 10 to 12 LCP points per day..
This is a nice aspect of LCP.. like earning interest on your points. I like it...

I average around 35 points at present on my LCP total on days when I do not log a cache. this equates to a whopping 12775 points per year for my total hides and finds ...
so my find average is @ 7.4 PPC, this equates to the same as about 1726 cache finds per year in my case.. how can it get any better than that? :D ...

I see how difficult it can be to move up in the rankings as you must overcome the daily points a cacher gains automatically on past hides/ finds plus enough new finds to move up a notch or two on the boards.. BikePhoto / Baad Daata / Corfmanclan .. its gonna take some serious fun days to gain a little on your guys.. :P

Yeah, each cache is like an investment gaining value over time. Some time it's value takes a hit but it will usually bounce back after a bit.

It's pretty easy to tell how much "interest" you have accrued per day for the last 30 days and the last 180 days with a little math. From your Recent Activity just divide your 1 month growth by 30 and your 6 month growth by 180 and that will get your average daily growth for the past month and half a year respectfully.

This topic brings up a question I had on the yearly leader boards. When the final tally is done on January 15th are the caches values used going to be what they are worth that day or what they were worth two week earlier on January 1st?
The reason I ask is because Thoehn gains about 30 points a day on me in the NM total points board for the year. If the January 15th value is used then I need to be at least another 450 points ahead of him to make up for his interest gains.

The final tally will be done Jan. 10, not Jan. 15.

The cache value will be what they should be for the end of the year. That is, time since January 1st will not affect the point calculation, only finds previous to Jan. 1 will. Also, any caches archived and removed from LonelyCache from Jan 1 until the year is finalized will not be included.
