Hi,

I updated the site today in the hopes of resolving the Site Update Issue. Some changes were made in the hope of resolving the issue, but we really don't know whether they will or not. At any rate, the changes seem to work fine in my test environment and hopefully now in production too.

There were some other changes that also made it into this release:
  • The banner ads were removed from the Login page, Registration pages, Contact Page, and the Administration pages.
  • The RecentFinds page, Leader page, and Backcountry page were updated to show both CPs and nfCPs.
  • Fixed formatting issue on Contact page.
  • When going to the GeocacherPage and no geocacher is specified and the user is anonymous (not logged in), the request now redirects to the Login page.
  • Added a 20 pixel margin to the bottom of the right banner ad.
  • More infrastructure added for upcoming knowledge books.

Unfortunately, the site update issue still exists. Basically something is causing a database insert query that used to complete in less than 90 seconds to timeout after 30 minutes. I have no ETA on when this may be resolved.

Yes, I noticed that yesterday. It appears a second DB query is now timing out. At least that's what happened yesterday. I haven't yet checked what occurred this morning though it most likely is the same. For more details, see the Site Update issue.
