Four finds of note recently.

First, I finally had enough qualifying caches to post a find on Traditional Challenge Cache 200 http://coord.info/GC2KDHT. I had accidently deleted my bookmark list so this one took alot of time.

Second, went out for the Kinder Crossing caches. These have been on the radar for a long time
http://coord.info/GC316M7
http://coord.info/GC316MC
http://coord.info/GC316MW
The hike took longer than expected, and the unintentional swim while crossing clear creek was an unexpected......slip

Nice! All of those are on my todo list. I even contemplated doing the Kinder Crossing caches yesterday but went after some others instead.

Last saturday I headed up to the rim country for the Evil Fishing event and noticed a cache that hadn't been found for just four days shy of three years. I just couldn't resist putting my sig on the log of Team Dusty Rhino 2.

larsslc and I had a killer day on Thursday,19th. We found 8 caches that hadn't been found in over 3 years each, 3 that hadn't been found in over 2 years each and 2 that hadn't been found in over 1 year each. In total Jim had 1228 net points for the day and I had
1142. The difference being I had previously found a couple of them already. I also rescued a Travel Bug that had been in a cache for 3 years and 3 months. It was a long day having picked him up at 7:00
am and dropped him off at 8:30 pm but worth every minute and mile of the journey. A day spent with a good friend and caching buddy is priceless.

On 8/8/2013 found f/k/a Bouncing GC1BDFY. The previous find was 01/02/2010. This was a easy find just a long bumpy drive.

I went and visited Mr. Daniels today. His first in 21 months. It sure was a long bumpy ride to get to where the hike started. Lots of elevation gain to finally meet up with Jack too.

Corfman Clan, thanks for checking on mr. daniels for me. he was getting really lonely.

how is it that you can hike cross country all that way in the desert so uneventfully? on my hike this weekend I had run ins with 2 snakes, wasps and a bee hive, finding:

Ruby has a friend- 1.5 years
The Ruby Challenge - 1.5 years
Twenty Second Surprise "Ruby Extreme"- 1.5- years
Above Arizona 2 - 2.5 years
Twenty First Surprise "Rainbow Over Hex Mine"- 2.5 years

Wow AZC, you had quite the eventful hike last week and found several lonely caches. You'ld like where I went today, there's lots of old mines.

Today I had another uneventful day caching. First I got a FTF on a Thirtieth Surprise “George Washington Mine” that has been out just shy of six months. I also found two caches that hadn't been found for 1.5 years: Hand Me Hamlin and Pay for the View.

Hello Lonely Cachers! This is my first post here.

My wife and I spent some time exploring/caching in the Ojito Wilderness area and had a few over-a-year finds.

Gypsum Junction - 1 Year 6 months. This one involved a wrong turn down an amazing gypsum lined slot canyon. It led us to the cache, but added a considerable amount of time. It was well worth the delay.
CRUST - 1 year 6 months. This one was on the bluff above Gypsum Junction. It was very windy up there but the view was amazing.
Almost To The Point - 1 year 5 months. Found this one the day before with my wife and four year old son. It was pretty accessible, so it was surprising it sat so long.
LITTLE SPRING SENTINEL - Technically this one was 11 days shy of 1 year, but I'm guessing no one will find it in the next 11 days, so it's close enough. ;)

It was a very windy day but the Ojito area is very beautiful. We will be going back for more as soon as possible.

I figure it's about time I worked on raising my annual backcountry score, so yesterday I went for a long hike and found seven caches. Two of those got me 81 and 82 points and another was worth 53. Four of the seven hadn't been found in well over a year: Did I mention the hike was long? Over 11 miles with lots of ups and downs. I was beat well before I made it back to my truck. Here's the tracks:

It's great country out there. I was surprised it's been so long since some of those have been found. Looking forward to see if I end up with a negative growth for the past 30 days :o

A pleasant surprise; my 30 day growth only dropped 712 points

Took a long hike yesterday to get two high-point caches:
A26 - Was the 4th longest unfound cache in NM worth with the last find being 4 years ago.
A3 - Unfound in 2yrs 6 months.
The longest unfound cache in NM is also in this canyon and I now have the codes needed to go after it. I'm hoping to tackle it sometime before the new year. Haven't tallied my mileage yet, but it was a nice day of hiking from 7am to 3pm. I'm chasing two other cachers on the NM 2013 Backcountry Leaderboard and maybe these two will bump me up.

Went back to Alamo canyon and found A8 A/B today. Until my find today, this cache was NM's longest along at 4 years 6 months. It also ranked #12 for points in NM. Plus it was just plain awesome, this guy's caches rock! I also found A10 Yellow? while I was out there, and ran into a herd of ~30 wild sheep. Great day.

Found Leprechaun Luck today. http://coord.info/GC3EN42
I've been surprised there weren't more finders, except that it took me 18 months to solve. :o
Probably my last big find north of Payson until winter is over.

Twenty Seventh Surprise "Out There" last found 1/21/2013
Twenty Eighth Surprise "Lonesome Trail" last found 1/21/2013
