I agree that archived caches should not be able to maintain points. If you can't get the points it should go back.

Re: wishes
I know this is probably not the time to be thinking of expanding the geographical territory the LCP.
I'm not asking now but just thinking about adding a couple more states with low population, low cache numbers in the distant future..
Wyoming: total caches today: 4766
Idaho : 14857 total caches as of today...
I would only add Idaho north to 45th parallel if that is possible. That makes it just even with the top or north Wyo/ Montana state line leaving the Idaho pan handle out of LCP...
just thinking about the far distant future .. I'm totally satified with the area covered in the initial LCP..
thanks CC for your efforts.. Just thinking out loud again trying to generate some discussion...

We have been Keeping the idea of increasing the range of LonelyCache in mind as we've been implementing it. I'd love to grow the territory to all of the western US, and more. Time will tell where we expand to.desert dawg wrote:I know this is probably not the time to be thinking of expanding the geographical territory the LCP...

I too, would like to see Southern CA included in The LoneyCache Project. Yuma AZ is on the southeast CA border and there is a large group of Geocachers that winter in the Yuma area with many caches placed in CA. I feel that there are many of these caches that would qualify as a Lonely Cache.

Regions to return, would that ever be possible?

It does have the old DGP regions, as well as counties. What I would like to see is a map showing what these regions and counties are (Not being an AZ native, I don't know the counties that well yet).rambrush wrote:Regions to return, would that ever be possible?

Re: wishes
Yes, as Opjim mentions, we do have the DGP Regions. Right now, we don't have the CA, TX, nor Mexico DGP Regions. We have also added Counties.rambrush wrote:Regions to return, would that ever be possible?
What we lack, and I'm working on adding, is what region and county a cache is in wherever that cache is listed. We also don't show a cacher's standing in the various DGP regions and counties from the cacher page.
We basically threw in the DGPRegions and Counties a day or two before we went live and did not have enough time to polish everything.
At the bottom of the home page, there is a table with links to the states, counties, and DGP regions. Sometime we will create maps.
Re: wishes
Thanks that was what I was looking for, my ranking in my region area. Will go take a look and see what it brings up.
Re: wishes
I would love to see some listings of the most recent high point value finds like on the DGP. I alway enjoyed reading the logs for all the recent finds. Thanks again for everyone's efforts in getting the site up and running.

Thanks. That's interesting. Is there a way to see the equivalent LonelyCache wide (also,State wide would be cool) information?Corfman Clan wrote:Updates to the Region page include

Re: wishes
If you ever consider expanding the Lonely Cache area, I have a little bit of experience that may be of some help. I've routinely gathered PQ's from many western states. Based on this, I've created one challenge cache that is outside of the Lonely Cache boundaries. High in Idaho.desert dawg wrote:I know this is probably not the time to be thinking of expanding the geographical territory the LCP.

Idaho has far fewer caches than any of the current Lonely Cache states. Wyoming has far fewer caches than Idaho. Montana has far fewer caches than either. If you ever consider expanding the Lonely Cache area, the burden in these states will be less than trying to gobble up some or all of California or Texas. Plus, there really are some lonely caches in these states.
If you want to consider Mexico, just because the DGP included some of it, you might want to think about how many of your "customers" actually live there.
Just my thoughts and experience. I hope this helps.

Well, yes, just go to the LoneyCache wide region page and any of the state region pages.A & J - Adrift wrote:Thanks. That's interesting. Is there a way to see the equivalent LonelyCache wide (also,State wide would be cool) information?Corfman Clan wrote:Updates to the Region page include

The easiest way to get to the LonelyCache wide region page, is to go to the home page, scroll to the bottom, and in the View Statistics For table, select LonelyCache Wide. Using that same table, you can also select the region page for the individual states.

Ahh ... Thanks. That works. When you mentioned "regions", I assumed you were referring to what you have labeled as regions (i.e. the old DGP regions).Corfman Clan wrote:Well, yes, just go to the LoneyCache wide region page and any of the state region pages.A & J - Adrift wrote:Thanks. And thanks for all your development effort.

I only have a few
Separate boards for cache types (trads, multis, puzzles, wherigos, etc.).
FTF/FDF boards (with point accumulation as discussed here ( http://www.lonelycacheproject.com/forum ... p?f=12&t=9 )
Owner accolades
Recent CP activity (1 week, 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, all of these?)
Personal page similar to DGP
Transfer all of Corfman Clan's points to JCanyoneer
Logs prior to Publish time-date disregarded
Recent Notable Finds (per area/region)
CPs based on logs after the publish time-date (not days logged after the publish date)
Owner points for hide after first find (after publish time-date)
A way to be able to list the caches, found/hidden by another cacher, that I could find to lower their overall score
(eg. I want to lower Corfman Clan's score-what caches should I target in descending order)
JCanyoneer
Pretty darn amazing Mr. Corfman! About the only thing you have not done to my satisfaction is to transfer all your points to me!
Awesome to see how much work you guys have done!

Just had another thought after reading a bunch of posts in other topics...maybe we should not include MooseMob hides or finds in any of the stats since he doesn't seem to like any of this.
Just jokin' Lynn! I like your perspective...very different from mine and helps see a different view!

Here ya go: Corfman Clan's Achilles Caches
The trouble is, more than two can play this game. I hereby challenge the LonelyCache community to target all jcanyoneer achilles caches that I have not found or own

Those lists are awesome!!!!
It would be great to be able to click a link on a cachers page to see that list...
Fun challenge too, though I doubt any will take you up on it
Again-you guys rock!

Well, that's the plan but we had too much going on in the last update to complete the necessary work. The Achilles page needs some tweeking too. For example, the current points needs to be displayed as well as the achilles points. The next find points probably would be nice to see too.jcanyoneer wrote:Those lists are awesome!!!!
