Works great! My database of caches I haven't found in AZ has about 22,000 hides. It took only a few seconds for the macro to retrieve all the LC data. That's impressive. Thanks, Russell for all the long hours on this project.

So glad to have the cache points back in GSAK (and on my GPS). The macro works very well is is fast!!!!. Thanks Russ for all of your hard work. One more thing I would like to see (and I think it has been mentioned before) is a listing of major high point recent finds on the main page (similar to what was previously on DGP). For me it was always interesting to see who was finding what and where. It only needs to be updated once a week and list the top point value caches found in the past week. Thanks again and you have made my day, week and month.

Though this isn't on the main page, it does exist on the LonelyCache Wide Region page.

UGH!!!

So, I just upgrade my GSAK to V 8.1.0.10 ... just so that I could import the LC data.

Finally, got the proxy server straightened out so that it can access the API.

Try to run the LC macro ... and I get an error:
Error in Macro at line: 277
$status = SQLite("import", $data, "table=data delim=,")

Error=> SQLite Error 1 - table data has 5 columns but 1 values were supplied

Macro will now abort
Any idea what is going on? Is there something that I have to do before running the macro? Do I need to update beyond GSAK 8.1.0.10?

I thought that the problem could have been a buggered database since I first tried to run the macro when the API was not working.

So, I deleted the LonelyCache folder and database and tried to rerun it. Assuming that finding the database missing, it would regenerate it. But, Now get a different error:
Error in Macro at line: 220
$status = Sqlite("create", $LonelyCacheSqlLiteFile,"")

Error=> SQLite Error 14 - unable to open database file

Macro will now abort
So ... obviously that did not work out.

Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Ran it again. Got the Error at line 220 again. Ran it again and got the first Error at line 277 again.

No clue what to try next.

I'm not really sure what is happening here, but it seems to be a permissions issue. I'm thinking that GSAK is not able to create the DB file for some reason. Or if it creates it, it is not able to update it. This is just a guess though.

What version of Windows are you running?
Where is the macro folder? From the GSAK menu, select Tools => Folder Finder..., select the macros dropdown, then click on show.

If there is a LonelyCacheImport folder, then open that folder and see if there is a LonelyCache.db3 file.

Also, you may want to update GSAK to the latest patch load, 8.1.1.125.

Running XP
Macro folder: C:\Documents and Settings\var1627\Application Data\gsak8\MacrosIn that I found the LonelyCache folder and the database file which is obviously being created ... although it looks pretty empty.
I did update to the latest Patch and see the same thing.

I will try it again at home and see what happens ... might be some weirdness on this computer. Although if I can update caches, etc through the API here, then I do not understand why this macro is having a problem with the API.

Thanks for any insights ... will let you know what happens at home.

Well ... just tried running it again to see if something different happened (isn't that the definition of insanity?) ... and it worked!!!!!

Must have been something going on in the API is my only guess.

This Macro alone cost me $20 ... since I had to upgrade GSAK :D I had not even really looked at my database for almost a year ... and then you got this site up and running ... very excited.

Hey, I got the same error as the Blizzles got yesterday trying to run the Macro. Today it worked fine. Must have been some glitch in the system.

Worked fine at home last night. I actually got the same error again today at work. Did not try it again though since I already had most of the data I cared about.

Is it possible to export the CP data into the GPX file? I know it gets put in as Custom Data, but is there a way to include the # in the name of in the Extra Info as a Log?

I was hoping that %CP was holding the data as the shortcut ... like %code, %name, etc, but that did not appear to work.

Anyone done it?

Re: GSAK Macro

Post by Corfman Clan »

Oh wait, I suppose you would like to know how

Here's the updated (from the old DGP version) GetCP.gsk macro. I'll add it to GSAK sometime, but for now here it is:

Code: Select all

#*******************************************
# MacVersion = 1.0
# MacDescription = Get CP value from custom data
# MacAuthor = Russell Corfman
# MacFileName = GetCP.gsk
# MacUrl =
#*******************************************

$cp = CustomGet("CP")

If $cp = "0" Or At("Error", $cp) <> 0
	$_Special = ""
Else
	If IsEmpty($_MacroParms)
		$_Special=$cp
	Else
		$p1 = extract($_MacroParms,"~",1)
		$p2 = extract($_MacroParms,"~",2)
		$_Special=$p1 + $cp + $p2
	Endif
Endif
Now, just call the macro when you export the GPX file, or when you export caches to your GPSr. For example, I set the name of the cache to:

Code: Select all

%Name%mtag="GetCP.gsk? (~)"
Now when a cache has a CP value other than zero, it will be appended inside parenthesis to the cache name.

Nice. I had tried %CP did not realize the rest was needed ... I shall give it a try.

I recently had to uninstall and reinstall GSAK on my new Windows 8 computer. The macro no longer runs and gives an SQLite error. Then GSAK is shut down and restarted. Here is a copy from my clipboard detailing this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill
