Re: Expansion & Those Pesky Pocket Queries
Great reply; really appreciate the effort you've put into this site, and your willingness to be open about what's going on behind the scenes and under the hood, to mix metaphors. Some follow ups: In the short term, there may be a delay with some new caches being added to LonelyCache due to the trans...

Re: Expansion & Those Pesky Pocket Queries
Very cool! Glad to hear the transition has worked so smoothly. What does this mean now in terms of update frequency, API usage vs. current capacity? Do you anticipate needing to buy more API calls (dummy Premium accounts, or the contribution scheme I had above)? Will you be growing the service area ...

Re: Expansion & Those Pesky Pocket Queries
Cool! Good luck with the transition! I think I said the same with regarding PQs, that you should provide a way for users to donate their premium membership perks to help keep the database maintained. It would be hard to donate pocket queries, but I can imagine the mechanisms are already in place wit...

Re: Arizona State Land Managers?
Makes me very sad to see things like this happen. Also makes me wonder whether it's the presence of the cache or the cachers that the land managers find objectionable. One of my pet peeves is seeing caches get archived when there is container in play and it seems clear that the C.O. will not be remo...

Wow! Statistics last updated Saturday, 11 January 2014 02:17:15 (UTC-07:00) Mountain Time (US & Canada) Whatever you did really worked! I forgot what time you said the update scripts started to run, but if it was 2AM, it looks like you have an order-of-magnitude improvement in performance here! ...

Re: Site Update Dec. 30 2013
Greetings, The site was just updated with the following changes: On the GeocacherPage, added the find count and the points to the Owner Find Accolades list. Made a minor layout tweak to the user Profile page. Looks good to me! [*]Geocaching.com User Name changes are now handled in LonelyCache. Afte...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
I have updated the site with fixes for some of the issues with this release: Retrieving Geocaching.com profile information is no longer dependent on logging in with the exact user name as on Geocaching.com. That is, it is no longer case sensitive, nor is having leading and trailing space an issue. ...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
Tried the Most Wanted list. Cool! I have my new wish list! But I immediately notice a glaring omission. There is a 3.75+ year-old unfound puzzle cache less than one mile from my home coords (sadly not owned by me), which is not on my Ignore List... and it doesn't show on my Most Wanted. To me it wa...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
...and download a GPX as well.... Okay, GPX is asking too much, but how about creating or adding to a Bookmark list? I know there's an API interface for that. One could then create a Pocket Query based on that bookmark list and download a GPX. LonelyCache just pushes the bookmark list and leaves th...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
Wow, the "most wanted" list is interesting. Some caches I've been saying I'll get "someday" have surprisingly high points. One enhancement I'd like is the ability to sort by max points rather than having them sorted by points per mile. thanks again Yep, I agree. I was thinking i...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
Next, I went to my recent finds. Some were showing, but not all, so I went to my Profile page, checked Update Recent Find (and set the correct time zone) and clicked the Update button. Gave it a minute, then went back to my Recent Finds. No update. Something's not right there. Actually, everything ...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
Here's my experience so far... LC.com seemed to be having trouble retrieving my profile from GC.com, despite logging out and back in, using a clean cookie session. I would log in, be returned to the home page, my LC.com username would be shown in the upper right next to Log Out, but there would be n...

Re: Most Wanted and Nearby caches
I'm looking forward to this one! I thought the changeable "BaseCamp" in DGP was a nice feature, and automatically using the API to grab home coords is an improvement. Love to see both! :D I hear ya on being able to specify the location to use. What I was trying to avoid, at least initially...
Re: Ads

Or maybe people can still register on the forums, but their posts have to be approved by a moderator unless they have ...

Those robospammers must have figured out how to auto...
