Re: Travel Bugs that visit lonely caches
Well one of my lonely TBs just bit the dust, http://coord.info/TB5C0YJ . I guess the third highest recorded flood levels on the Gila river were enough to wipe out the boulders hiding the ammo can. Bummer, and I had only just dropped it there last spring. The other lonely TBs are still ... lonely. No...

Adopting out... and then logging?
Sad to say, but lookslike I will be leaving the LCP regions for the greener pastures of Tennessee. I am considering putting up some of my caches for adoption, which seems like the responsible thing to do, but part of me want sot keep the LCP associated with these caches. I know I could calim a find ...

Re: Travel Bugs that visit lonely caches
Thought I'd post a follow-up to my original posting. So far out of all the Lonely Cache Hunter TBs I dropped, only one has been picked up (the rest are all where I left them, in really lonely caches. And the one that was picked up hasn't been dropped off in another lonely cache yet, but I'm still ho...

Re: The Expansion Conundrum
I need to revise my previous statement. Put all current expansion work on hold, because the state you really need to add is.... Tennessee! Yeah, just found out we'll be moving there in a few months. And I know I am going to be going through some LCP withdrawal
.

Re: Lurkers
I don't consider myself a lurker, so I'm not going to post here.
DOH
But Corfman Clan is right, it sure is quiet in this forum these days. Everyone is too busy finding those lonely caches in Wyoming and Idaho I guess.

Re: The Expansion Conundrum
My views are that the strength of LCP are in the types of geocaching behaviors it encourages. With immense geotrails and dense urban cache-areas forming, it is is easy for the better caches to get lost. Of course, a "quality" cache is subjective, and there are various ways geocachers can n...

Re: New Years Resolutions
There is an unfound cache in the Gila Wilderness that pretty much requires a 3-day trip to complete. Twice I had plans to do this cache in 2013 and both times had to make last minute changes to our plans, first due to a family emergency, and second from all the crazy September flooding that happened...

Re: Merry Christmas
And now, a happy new year! 2013 was fun for LCPing... I made a bid to climb up the new Mexico "Years top backcountry" leaderboard. I had the top spot for a few brief spells, but in the end got overtaken by wolf11649. Props to him. We'll see how this year develops. There are some very lonel...

Re: Site Update Dec. 20 2013
Nice update. I haven't found a cache in a while, so maybe I'm missing any issues relating to recent cache finds... better fix that by getting out. I tried out the Most Wanted feature, and was at first surprised to see one of my own caches listed. You would think that the list would filter out your o...

Re: Most Wanted and Nearby caches
I feel like I already get this functionality simply by narrowing down to the County level and looking at the list of top ranked caches for the county. Yeah, there are some really big counties, but for me this works pretty well and I have a good idea of what my "most wanted" caches are, at ...

Re: Annual Leaderboards
Thanks for the reply Corfman Clan. I should have seen those notes above. What threw me off is the note on the page detailing the caches that make up the score which reads. Note: Only finds that have not been archived and still exist in LonelyCache are included Note: Points shown are current, not...

Re: Annual Leaderboards
I have been chasing my way up the NM Backcountry 2013 Annual Leaderboard and got to thinking about how these leaderboards work. Specifically, do the rankings continue to change after the year is over? If someone goes ahead and finds a bunch of my achilles caches in 2014, could that cause me to drop ...

Re: FOUND IT? POST IT!
Went back to Alamo canyon and found A8 A/B today. Until my find today, this cache was NM's longest along at 4 years 6 months. It also ranked #12 for points in NM. Plus it was just plain awesome, this guy's caches rock! I also found A10 Yellow? while I was out there, and ran into a herd of ~30 wild s...

Re: FOUND IT? POST IT!
Took a long hike yesterday to get two high-point caches: A26 - Was the 4th longest unfound cache in NM worth with the last find being 4 years ago. A3 - Unfound in 2yrs 6 months. The longest unfound cache in NM is also in this canyon and I now have the codes needed to go after it. I'm hoping to tackl...

Re: Site Update September 16, 2013
Thanks for implementing this. Very cool. I'm at 16.2 points/cache (combined). One of the area locals, dnboe, is at ~35 points/cache (combined). Wondering who has a really high score of this.

Re: What's Next?
One thing I've been pondering of is a LCP/find stat (has this already been debated and I just missed the forums?). It should be really easy to generate and I'm curious about some of the local cachers that basically only go after high terrain caches, and how they stack up against the "uber-cache...

Re: FOUND IT? POST IT!
Just knocked down the #5 ranked New Mexico cache, New Mexico Beauty which was at 258 LCPs (now worth 129). The last find was also the FTF, back in March 2011. Been working on this series for the better part of a year and am pleased to have finally finished it :D . A fun and varied series of remote d...

Travel Bugs that visit lonely caches
Over the past few years I've picked up several un-activated geocoins and TBs. I've released some of these with/without missions but am mostly pretty un-impressed/uninterested in their travels. Sure some of them have gone pretty far, or even across the seas, but they usually end up in run-of-the-mill...
